A few things worth knowing.
Compatibility, privacy, and what comes with Pro.
Using Revenotch
What is the notch?
The black cutout at the top of MacBook Pro (since 2021) and MacBook Air (since 2022) displays. Revenotch draws a bar beside it and opens a panel below it when you hover, so your revenue lives in a spot that is always on screen and never covers your work.
Does it work without a notch?
Yes. On a Mac or display without a notch, Revenotch shows a small bar just under the menu bar instead. You choose the display in Settings.
How often does it refresh?
Payments every 60 seconds, MRR and charts every 15 minutes by default. Payments can be set from every 30 seconds to every 10 minutes; MRR from every 5 to every 60 minutes.
What does the Demo show?
A day of sample sales, a seven-day series, an MRR figure and a milestone, with a new sale arriving every two minutes so you can see the flash. Every Pro feature is open while the Demo is connected. It needs no account and can be removed at any time.
Compatibility & privacy
Which providers are supported?
Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Dodo Payments, Paddle and Polar. Each one can be added as a source; Pro lets you add more than one.
Is my API key safe?
The key is stored in the macOS Keychain, sent only to the provider that issued it, and never written to a file or a log. Revenotch has no server, no account and no analytics. Removing a source deletes its key.
What does "read-only" mean for each provider?
Stripe: a restricted key with Charges: Read and Subscriptions: Read; secret keys are refused. Paddle: transaction.read, subscription.read and customer.read. Polar: orders:read and subscriptions:read (Polar's spec also lists subscriptions:write for the subscription list). Dodo Payments: a key created with write access left off. Lemon Squeezy keys have no scopes at all, so the app suggests a separate key you can revoke.
Does it invent numbers?
No. Every figure is a field the provider's API returned, summed the way the provider documents it. The 30-day MRR change is the one figure Revenotch computes from its own daily samples, and it stays hidden until 25 days of history exist.
Which macOS versions does it need?
macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
Does it use Accessibility permissions?
No. Revenotch is sandboxed and uses only public Apple APIs. The only permission it needs is network access to reach your providers.
